This Armor Still Fits

In a world that constantly tries to define us, we discover a powerful truth: our identity as mighty warriors isn't based on how we feel or what our circumstances look like. Drawing from Ephesians 6, we're invited into the reality that spiritual warfare isn't optional—we're already in the wrestling match whether we acknowledge it or not. The enemy's most effective strategy isn't dramatic possession or obvious evil; it's the subtle whisper that truth is relative, that we're too busy for prayer, that shame defines us more than God's love. But here's the game-changer: we have access to God's armor, and it still fits. Just as the angel called Gideon a mighty warrior while he was hiding in fear, God speaks to what He's placed inside us, not to our current state. We learn that putting on this armor isn't a one-time event but a daily practice through prayer—buckling truth around our waist, protecting our hearts with righteousness, standing firm with the gospel of peace. The helmet of salvation guards our minds from lies, while the sword of the Spirit—God's Word spoken aloud—becomes our offensive weapon. Most beautifully, we discover there's no armor for our backs because we're meant to fight together, watching each other's backs in community. This isn't about surviving; it's about thriving as the warriors God created us to be.
